Predefined Projects

Predefined projects help proliferating the recommended coding guidelines and best practices. They are out of the box pre-configured DVT projects. The ones below are provided by the DVT development team. A dedicated team in your company can easily create and hook into DVT other reference or golden projects.

The predefined projects provided by the DVT development team also help you explore and learn the DVT functionality. This way you avoid the initial project configuration phase and focus on understanding the DVT added value.

NOTE: If you are using a DVT distribution, the predefined projects are already included.

Download dvt_predefined_projects-3.0.9.zip and follow the next steps:

• Step 1: Unpack into a folder of your choice.



• Step 2: Set the system variable $DVT_PREDEFINED_PROJECTS to point to the predefined projects folder.



• Step 3: Start DVT as usual.



• Step 4: From one of the DVT perspectives (e Language, Verilog...) use the Predefined Project Wizard toolbar button or menu File > New > Predefined Project to open a predefined project. You should get a wizard page as in the snapshot below. The predefined project is copied to a target folder of your choice. You can play as you want on this copy.
