Why?

I recommend using vi, emacs, nedit or similar. They are everywhere and light.
But sometimes I get lost and spend more time outside the editor on iterative greps, taking or looking for notes and docs, compiling just for a syntax error, switching from editor to simulator or revision control and lose my focus.
